SCHEMES

ISAAP offers industry-recognised accreditation, certification and validation options to accommodation providers, operators and owners. These scehemes are commensurate with the standards required by corporate buyers and travel managers and, with the validation schemes under ISAAP.Verify, demonstrate verified safety and security standards to government and local authorities.

Options range from full quality and safety assessment visits carried out by professional, independent ISAAP Quality & Compliance Assessment Consultants to remote procedures whereby the essential verification documentation and evidential information is exchanged to validate the safety, security and quality standards.

The accreditations, certifications and validations awarded are specific to the accommodation provider, property owner, building or aparthotel assessed, depending eligibility and the option selected.

COMPLIANCE ACCREDITATION

For Serviced Accommodation and Corporate Housing providers

This is a remote accreditation process, whereby the provider is required to share relevant evidential documentation with the ISAAP Assessor to verify that the necessary standards of safety, security and other regulatory requirements are met. There is also an online review to check that the necessary standard of quality and comfort has been consistently achieved as reported by consumers of this provider’s products and services.

Further, attainment of ISAAP Compliance Accreditation signifies to corporate buyers and travel managers that this provider’s accommodation is “ISO 31030 Ready”.

Successful providers receive the ISAAP “Compliance Accreditation” seal.

BUILDING ACCREDITATION

For Serviced Accommodation & Corporate Housing Providers

This accreditation recognises the building or property as having achieved the necessary enhanced standards of Safety and Quality.

An ISAAP accredited building is regarded as the highest possible accreditation for serviced accommodation, as all standards at that property are physically verified by the ISAAP assessor during a pre-arranged overnight stay, where criteria are scrutinized to a higher level.

All Compliance criteria will be verified, Quality and Comfort standards will need to achieve the enhanced level, as demonstrated by the higher Quality Scoring targets, and additional criteria pertaining to the operation of that particular property will also be assessed for conformance.

Building Accreditation, where awarded, assures clients and consumers that the provider operating that property has achieved, at that address, the necessary enhanced pre-set quality and comfort scores as a differentiator from the competition, and that the necessary elements of Compliance Accreditation have been physically verified as being in place.

Further, attainment of ISAAP Building Accreditation signifies to corporate buyers and travel managers that this provider’s accommodation is “ISO 31030 Ready”.

A serviced accommodation provider whose building is eligible for Building Accreditation, and whose building achieves the accreditation standards, will receive the ISAAP “Building Accreditation” seal.

QUALITY & COMFORT CERTIFICATION

For Serviced Accommodation & Corporate Housing Providers

This process requires a pre-arranged visit, mostly with an overnight stay, by the ISAAP Assessor to a selection of accommodation units across all buildings in which the provider operates.

Sometimes this process can be spread over two or three years, dependent upon number and geographical spread of the provider’s inventory. The set standard for quality and comfort must be achieved by the provider and a Quality and Comfort Certification (QCC) Score/Rating will be calculated.

Quality & Comfort Certification, where awarded, assures clients and consumers that the provider has achieved or exceeded the necessary pre-set quality and comfort scores as a differentiator from the competition.

Successful providers receive the ISAAP “Quality & Comfort Certification” seal.
The Quality & Comfort Score reflects the ISAAP Assessor’s experience of the guest journey from booking to post-departure.

Scores are allocated up to a maximum of 5 for each component of the assessment criteria.

The initial score is derived from the overnight stay experience, and this is then further adjusted according to variations in standards of quality and comfort experienced by the ISAAP Assessor when viewing further accommodation units during the assessment process.

The Overall Score reflects that standard achieved by the accommodation provider for the country and the year of assessment visit.
The minimum overall score required is 75%, or a QCC rating of 3.8.

The QCC logo awarded displays the rating obtained by the accommodation provider, though the percentage scores remain the confidential property of ISAAP and the accommodation provider only.

EURO CERTIFICATION FOR QUALITY, SAFETY & SECURITY

There are 2 parts to this certification scheme.

The first requires the provider to share relevant evidential documentation with the ISAAP Assessor to verify that the necessary standards of safety, security and other regulatory requirements are met. This is, initially, a digital, remote process.

However, there are elements of this which will require on-site completion and verification by the ISAAP Assessor, and these will be incorporated into the second part of this certification.

The second part requires a pre-arranged visit, mostly with an overnight stay, by the ISAAP Assessor to a selection of accommodation units across all buildings in which the provider operates.

Sometimes this process can be spread over two or three years, dependent upon number and geographical spread of the provider’s inventory. The set standard for guest experience (quality and comfort) must be achieved by the provider. This is achieved by the assessor scoring all elements out of 5 as he/she progresses through the guest journey from booking to departure.

EURO Certification – Quality, Safety, Security, where awarded, assures clients and consumers that the provider has demonstrated procedures  to achieve the expected standards of guest safety and security and has exceeded the necessary pre-set guest experience (quality and comfort) scores as a differentiator from the competition.

NORTH AMERICAN CORPORATE HOUSING CERTIFICATION BASE 1

For Corporate Housing providers

Geared towards the North American market, and acknowledging the specifics of the corporate housing model, this process requires a pre-arranged visit, mostly with an overnight stay by the ISAAP Assessor, to a selection of accommodation units across all buildings in which the provider operates.

Sometimes this process can be spread over two or three years, dependent upon number and geographical spread of the provider’s inventory. The set standard for quality and comfort must be achieved by the provider and a Quality and Comfort Certification (QCC) Score/Rating will be calculated.

Base 1 (Quality & Comfort) Certification, where awarded, assures clients and consumers that the provider has achieved or exceeded the necessary pre-set quality and comfort scores as a differentiator from the competition.

Successful providers receive the ISAAP “Quality & Comfort Certification” seal and a Base 1 Verification logo.

NORTH AMERICAN CORPORATE HOUSING CERTIFICATION BASE 2

For Corporate Housing providers

This is both a remote and an on site certification process, whereby the provider is required to share relevant evidential documentation with the ISAAP Assessor to verify that the necessary standards of safety, security and other regulatory requirements are met. The assessor will conduct site assessments of properties in which the provider operates to verify required standards or safety and security are in place.

This Base 2 certification can only be taken in conjunction with the Base 1 certification; it is not a standalone product, though a separate verification logo for Base 2 certification is provided upon successful completion.

Where an accommodation provider has achieved NA CH Certification Base 2, corporate buyers, travel managers and consumers can be confident that the accommodation is “ISO 31030 Ready”.

Successful providers receive the ISAAP NA CH Certification Base 2 seal.

ISAAP.Verify

For Short Term Accommodation (STA) operators

This is a digital, remote process for STA operators, where evidential documentation and information is provided to demonstrate the operators’ properties’ conformance to required regulatory quality, safety and security standards commensurate with licensing and registration expectations.

STA operators can select from 5 validation steps through the ISAAP.Verify pathway:

  • Accommodation Registration
  • Professional Validation
  • Premium Validation
  • Community Responsibility
  • Responsible Company Validation

Operators’ achievements will be evidenced by the awarding of the ISAAP.Verify validation badges for the steps they have successfully completed.

SECURE SERVICES ACCOMMODATION ACCRECITATION

ISAAP’s Secure Serviced Accommodation Accreditation using GSA’s expertise in this particular field, is independently, externally verified. This satisfies one of the key recommendations of the ISO 31030 standard, that being that accommodation standards are independently/externally assessed and verified.

This is designed as a remote assessment process, whereby the provider is required to share relevant evidential documentation with the GSA Assessor to verify that the necessary standards of procedural and physical security are met. There will also be photographic and video evidence required to complete the process. Security risks covered by this accreditation include Planning, Policy & Procedures, Effective Management, Physical & Technical Security, Surveillance, Lighting & Alarms, The Workforce.

In locations of higher risk, the process will be conducted as a site visit. Security Accreditation, where awarded signifies to corporate buyers and travel managers that this provider’s accommodation is “ISO 31030 Ready”.

Successful providers receive the ISAAP Security Accreditation marque with additional independent Accreditation.
